Chapter V – PREPARATION FOR WORK AND TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

At this point you are having the basics – main inputs tailored through information and knowledge which will allow you to engage in the processing tasks at CNC machines.

“When safety is first, you last.”

– Unknown author

Though he is unknown, we would stand behind every word in this sentence. Before you start operating at the machine, you need to be aware of all safety standards and procedures you need to follow in order to make sure that no harm is made to your people (those who help you in the work – your colleagues) and of course to you as well. Let’s learn about protection at work and protection gear you should use.

Further on, you need to know how to read technical documentation, more precisely to get familiar with:

  • Technical documentation

  • Technical drawings

  • Descriptive geometry

We are continuing with coordinating systems here. Through the following tutorial you will learn to explain coordinating systems, projections and quadrants.
