Chapter VII – WORKING WITH CHILDREN FROM VULNERABLE GROUPS
Working with children from vulnerable groups requires a more individualised approach to the
child and therefore a specific set of skills that each kindergarten teacher must possess in order to
be able to provide emotional, sociological and psychological support to these children from
vulnerable groups.
The first step is to develop the pedagogical profile of the child, which we will discuss in the
following video and also how to elaborate an individual educational plan and what it should
contain.
When working with children from minority groups, special attention has to be paid to intercultural
learning. This process helps the integration process of the child from a vulnerable group, but also
serves as social education of other children from their group.
In the following video we will talk about the importance of intercultural learning today and how
we can apply it in the classroom to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
